Goal

Design a new feature for group travelers to use before, during or after their trips

Our Design Process

The Trip Advisor would like our class to come up with an app solution for group travelers. We came up with three directions during the whole design process. 

​​

  • Phase I: We created an app feature that combined google calendar and google map for trip planners to play their trips.

 

  • Phase II: We created an in-destination using design that enable group travelers to make group decisions while they are in the destination.

​​

  • Phase III: Out-destination using design that enables travelers to make group travel plans before their travel easily and smartly.​

Methodology

  • Conduct user research to understand their group travel experience 

  • Create persona and scenarios

  • Ideate and design prototypes

  • Test and collect feedback from users, professor and sponsor

  • Frequent meetings with team to analyze feedback and iterate prototypes 

  • Present final prototype and presentation with class and sponsor

My Contribution

  • ​Generated questions for user research

  • Ideated prototypes

  • Created prototype in Axure

  • Analyzed results and provided recommendations

  • Generated paper in the portion of prototype explanation

  • Presented the prototypes to class and sponsor

Things We Could Do Better Next Time: 

  • We can do user research together, so we can discuss right after the research finished. We might notice different things and have different concerns or discoveries in the research.

  • We spent long time to discuss and tried to figure out which one's idea is better or which direction we should move on. Next time, we can go out and ask users how they feel and think to instead of discussing long time to figure out which is the best for the users.
